1 – Ensure Safety
- Shut off electricity to the affected area at the breaker. If you must enter water, wear rubber boots and rubber gloves.
- Do NOT use any powered items in water-affected areas.
- Shut off the water at the main valve (if the source is inside your home).
- Avoid standing in water until power is off.
2 – Document the Damage
- Take photos and videos before moving anything.
- Capture:
- Where the water is coming from
- Damage to walls, floors, ceilings, and belongings
- Any visible mold or staining
- Keep receipts for any temporary protection (tarps, buckets, etc.).
3 – Call Your Insurance Company
- Report the damage immediately (most policies require quick notice).
- Ask:
- Will an adjuster come before work begins?
- Can I choose my own water restoration company?
- What’s covered for emergency mitigation?
4 – Call Your Local Water Damage Experts
We will:
- Stop the water source (if not already done)
- Remove standing water
- Dry & dehumidify affected areas
- Check for hidden moisture
- Document all damage for your claim
- Work directly with your adjuster
5 – Meet the Adjuster
- Walk through every affected area together.
- Provide your photos, videos, and receipts.
- Keep copies of all claim documents.
